She has worked for Columbus/Sandusky-based companies such as Herman’s, Ci Bon, and McVays’ Ethan Allen. She joined the design team at McVays’ Ethan Allen in Worthington were she worked for over 10 years. She attended the Ethan Allen Designers conference in New York 1998 and then at Walt Disney World in 2000.

Joyce also freelanced at a sister company Commercial Interiors working with local developers to design condos and model apartments. As a freelance designer at Commercial Design she was involved in working with Columbus based medical offices with floor planning and designing projects for the medical teams that would be occupying the office spaces.

She then went to Silver Threads doing design and custom window treatments.

“I believe that a home should reflect the lifestyles of those who live there. My job is to make a house a home. When chatting with my clients, I feel a lot of them are a little apprehensive about working with a designer. I think they feel that I will just tell them to get rid of all of their current furnishings. In reality, I like working with my clients current items and then just adding to them! I love detailing with old items that have been overlooked in their family possession for decades, adding special interest and history to your space.”
